PARENTS ASSOCIATION
Nicosia-Cyprus
Contact person: Maria Yiannouri (teacher)
Email: europes@cytanet.com.cy

The Parents’ Association of Exormisi kindergarten  school it operates via 7 elected members and works to promote parents interests and support the school in the education of our children. We host numerous events throughout the year – some are lectures for the parents and others are social activities and events for the enjoyment of the children.
We would like to get involved in a Grundtvig program.
Some ideas;

1)    Bringing students, teachers and parents closer together
2)    How can we deal with the needs of our children as they grow up?
3)    Exchange ideas and practices between other European Parents’ Associations

About the school
The school was established in 1986 and teaches 120 children between 2-6 years old. It has 5 classes, 1 of which pre-junior. It is being inspected by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus. It is open from 7.30a.m. until 18.00p.m. and the services offered  include  the provision of daily meals and  transportation and children may also sleep for certain hours. It is a non profit organization.
The education offered by the school forms a basic foundation for a successful life long learning. The early childhood years are very important for the character building of the children. Life long learning becomes more effective if a proper foundation is laid during the early childhood years.
The school aims to make children more sociable, it helps them become part of groups, it also helps them act  independently and learn how to be self dependent. The ultimate goal being to offer children quality education.
Apart from academic learning, the education offered by the school also includes, the organization of group activities , the organization of games, constructing  and creating works and also offers the provision of various stimulus which stimulate childrens’  thinking and make them become addicted to the learning process, cultivate children dexterities and prepare them for their future role as students and citizens.
