Теодора Гюрова, Лъчезар Африканов, Петя
2WARdS Europe

Aims of the project:
In many countries the year 2014 will be broadly focussed on the remembering of the start of the 1st Worldwar, exactly one century ago.
This historic moment is the starting point, but the proposed project itself deals also with the problems from today: like racism, extremism, eetropolitan problems, discrimination, human lefts.  .
This project aims to bring together partners from as many as possible European countries.
Besides adult education schools,  the promoters wants especially invite arts centres, cultural centres dealing with informal adult education forms, to participate in this project.
During the two years of the project (September 2012 till June 2014), the objectives of the project will be realized by the partners on two levels: on the local and in actions at European level.
All actions will have in common as aims:
  1. Organising an intergenerational dialogue with youngsters and senior citizens.
How to talk about conflicts from the past,
How important it is to learn from this knowledge.
How to deal with actual conflicts.
  2. Organising an intercultural dialogue between European cultures, locally and on the European project level.
How important it is to be aware of each others history
How to learn from it to build up more European citizenship in actual times.
In practice all partners engaged to create intergenerational and intercultural workshops, groups on local level.  The methods and outcomes in the project are still open: using different communication tools; using arts disciplines, bringing together good practices,.
the provisional working title of the project is "2WARdS-Europe".
This has several connotations with the main aims of the projects:
  1. we take the two world wars as indirect historical important memories to build up the theme;
  2. We try to have at the end of the two years project in 2014, a document or a testimony how European arts and cultural scene wants to practice intercultural and intergenerational dialogue to help avoiding or solving conflicts in the future
  3. We want to use the project to create more European citizenship, to create more Europe

How to become partner?
When your organisation is interested to participate, please react immediately.
A preparatory meeting will be organized in Zagreb on the 9th till the 11th of February 2012. The Grundtvig application deadline is the 20the of February 2012.
Please send a short motivated request to the project coordinators: ivopeeters@yahoo.com and ljperisic@cekate.hr.   The promoters hope to bring together partners who are interested in the topic and who want to cooperate actively with their local cultural institution, staff and volunteers, citizens.
