The project should help to establish a cooperation between partners on this issue which could help in promoting positive and healthy attitudes towards life.
Moreover, we would like to make a specific local action on how to help our local schools in establishing healthy eating habits in school. With this local campaign, the whole local community will be involved in this project which impacts on sustainability of this project.
We will promote the healthy lifestyles among children by providing equal access to healthy and proper diet to all elementary school children in our city. This will be enabled by making all the above mentioned activites ( from 1. to 9.).
This project involves all the educative community (students, teachers, families), to open the European dimension, to extend to share, learn, exchange, improve…

TITLE OF THE PROJECT | A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON GIFTED AND TALENTED STUDENTS |
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES | While countries try to provide equal opportunities to physically and mentally handicapped children, they sometimes can ignore to provide necessary education for their gifted and talented children who especially grow up in rural and underdeveloped regions. These children are important because they are the ones who will sign the future and successes of the country and European Union in the fields of not only science and Maths but also sports, music, arts, etc. If authorities don’t take necessary precautions, either the countries won’t rescue these children from disappearing or these children will emigrate to other countries where they are provided better education and life conditions for themselves. |
CONTENTS | Therefore, we, as a local authority in education, want to prepare Comenius Regio Partnership and develop and exchange best practices in this field, develop tools for sustainability of this area, create awareness in society and strengthen the European dimension. Our target will be students, every kind of teachers and every kind of administers and managers who work in education, and parents. |

Comenius Region Partnership_Scotland
The project will last for two years and involve the local authority, several schools and an outside partner. It will set out to improve literacy skills and enhance modern language learning. There will be a specific focus on later primary and early secondary school teaching with the themes of a Curriculum for Excellence which have become the responsibility of all teachers in Scotland. This includes literacy, numeracy, health and wellbeing (diet, fitness, sport, relaxation techniques, etc).
If you know of a European Regional/Local Authority that may be interested in this opportunity, we would be very grateful if you would pass this message on to your relevant contacts.
Any interested organisations should contact Meryl James at Perth & Kinross Council directly (meryljames@pkc.gov.uk)
Many thanks,
Robert

Efficient Reading and Learning
Abstract:
Two European regions (Lower Austria and ...............) analyse , discuss and document (field studies) questions related to the reading competence of children between 6 and 15 in their regions.
Furthermore, based on this sound investigation the two partners design models of good practice (eg big books, book reviews) which they will test, adapt and eventually implent in their regions.
The topic is of interest for both regions as the level of reading of pupils within the EU is definitely not growing in some cases even slightly diminishing according to European documents.
The focus will be on questions related to motivation, the role of modern media, learning and reading stategies, gender sensitive texts, reading in all subjects and links between reading skills in L1 and L2.
The close relationship between reading and efficient and better learning will be investigated.
The partnership is varied and offers a promising mix of school boards, practicioners and researchers.

Comenius Regio partnership_Slovenia
Extremely positive results of extra-curricular activities have highly motivated and challenged the students as well as teachers of the Comprehensive School Vič to start looking for proper partners internationally who would be willing to work with us through the Comenius Regio Project.
So far our students and teachers have achieved extraordinary results in different subject areas on a national as well as international level;
- competence to work in international teams and produce completed tasks with presentations as a result of several exchange programmes – Swedish, Spanish, Hungarian, Slovenian
- gold, silver and bronze medals in the national Haiku poetry contest – English, Spanish, Slovenian
- individual participation in different subject areas – gold medal in Physics – Israel, silver medal in ISWEEEP – USA, bronze medal in Chemistry – European Scientific Olympics, Informatics, British Council Project – Challenges in Schools – presentation of project work » School of the Future« at the conference in Budapest.
- Ongoing Comenius Partnership – Norway, Sweden, Spain, Slovenia
According to our rich experience we would like to expand and develop our work since the results of it have been outstanding. Equally we would like our students and teachers to enlarge their possibilities in getting opportunities to develop their creative skills and talents in different subject areas within the National Curriculum. We strongly believe that we can find partners with similar ambitions so we decided to look for an institution that would be willing to co-operate in the advancing, creative sphere. Comenius Regio Project seems to be perfect for us to develop and share our experience in order to work on mutual interests and desires. Creativity in different subject areas is our goal and consequently we expect our students to be highly encouraged in the need to express their individual creative skills and interests and finally strengthen their self-awareness in doing something prosperous.
OUR PROJECT
The Slovenian National Institute of Education strongly supports our ideas and is willing to enrol at the Comenius Regio Project on our behalf. We decided to challenge our students for the creative work (age 15 – 18 ) particularly in Science, Art, Social Studies and languages which would give them several opportunities to develop and realize their interests and desires as well as enable them to evoke their own potentials through creative work.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
The kind of work that we propose would definitely encourage individual work based on creativity, develop personal skills and strengthen self-awareness of teachers and students, which would be provided by teacher mobility, intensive work in international teams and sharing good practice.
Co-operation with partners who would share our interests would enable all of us to reach our goals and also enrich our experience crucial for the development of our future work, dependent mostly on creativity.
