Located in the old town in a historic building designed by Tylman van Gameren, it plays an important role in the cultural life of Rzeszow and Subcarpathia Province. A little bit history: The school was founded in 1658 by Sophia Prudencjanna Ligęza and her brother-in-law, Jerzy Sebastian

Summary of the project
Aims, objectives, general approach
Lodz* in a virtual cruise around the Baltic seaports
Imagine the Boat floating silently across the space of the Baltic Sea…
Lodz (the Boat) is going to take “on board” the participants of the program from Baltic countries (Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Finland and Denmark) and take them on a cruise over the most important seaports of the Baltic Sea. The cruise is to be divided into stages. Each stage is to end with the arrival at a different seaport.
The program is addressed to seniors and its aim is to teach about the geographical situation of the seaports, historical experiences as well as the direction of the present changes, both political and socioeconomic, connected with the ecology.
Seniors have not had a chance to personally visit the other Baltic seaports and learn about their history, but they remember the times when Baltic was not so polluted as it is today.
At present, the Baltic Sea is among the most polluted seas on Earth. The consequences of our everyday, usual activity are extremely hazardous for the environment. The participants are to get to know the initiatives of the countries within the environmental protection zone as well as the programs of regional and transborder cooperation in the area of the Baltic Sea.
The goal of the program is going to be the promotion of the European dimension of the initiatives, arousing interest in the problem of the ecology of the Baltic Sea, raising the social awareness and sensitizing the society to the ecological problems.
Activities taken in the project are also to promote and popularize knowledge about the cultural, social and historical issues of life in the Baltic seaports.
In all the countries participating in the project, there are going to be work groups collecting materials and discussing them. The groups are going to adopt different concepts of work as well as methods, with regard to the history of their own country.
The group members are going to meet in the chosen ports according to the dates in a schedule and debate about the acquired knowledge. Computer is going to serve as the communication tool between all the participants, which, for seniors, may be an additional possibility of extending their skills.
Work groups are to work out many materials. Creation of a web-page and a publication being the tool for popularizing the results of the project are anticipated. At the end of the project, the recapitulating meeting with the participation of ecological organizations is going to take place.
