Located in the old town in a historic building designed by Tylman van Gameren, it plays an important role in the cultural life of Rzeszow and Subcarpathia Province. A little bit history: The school was founded in 1658 by Sophia Prudencjanna Ligęza and her brother-in-law, Jerzy Sebastian
Lubomirski.  From 1658 until 1784 the school was named as Collegium Resoviense and was run by the Piarists order.  In the 17th and 18th Centuries the school was Recognized as an important cultural center. In 1785, after the First Partition of Poland Austrian Authorities removed the school from Piarist control and changed the name to Rzeszow's Ober-Gymnasium.  During World War I and Polish-Soviet War teachers and

Summary of the project
Aims, objectives, general approach
Lodz* in a virtual cruise around the Baltic seaports

Imagine the Boat floating silently across the space of the Baltic Sea…

Lodz (the Boat) is going to take “on board” the participants of the program from Baltic countries (Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Finland and Denmark) and take them on a cruise over the most important seaports of the Baltic Sea.  The cruise is to be divided into stages. Each stage is to end with the arrival at a different seaport.
The program is addressed to seniors and its aim is to teach about the geographical situation of the seaports, historical experiences as well as the direction of the present changes, both political and socioeconomic, connected with the ecology.
Seniors have not had a chance to personally visit the other Baltic seaports and learn about their history, but they remember the times when Baltic was not so polluted as it is today.
At present, the Baltic Sea is among the most polluted seas on Earth. The consequences of our everyday, usual activity are extremely hazardous for the environment. The participants are to get to know the initiatives of the countries within the environmental protection zone as well as the programs of regional and transborder cooperation in the area of the Baltic Sea.
The goal of the program is going to be the promotion of the European dimension of the initiatives, arousing interest in the problem of the ecology of the Baltic Sea, raising the social awareness and sensitizing the society to the ecological problems.
Activities taken in the project are also to promote and popularize knowledge about the cultural, social and historical issues of life in the Baltic seaports.

In all the countries participating in the project, there are going to be work groups collecting materials and discussing them. The groups are going to adopt different concepts of work as well as methods, with regard to the history of their own country.
The group members are going to meet in the chosen ports according to the dates in a schedule and debate about the acquired knowledge. Computer is going to serve as the communication tool between all the participants, which, for seniors, may be an additional possibility of extending their skills.
Work groups are to work out many materials. Creation of a web-page and a publication being the tool for popularizing the results of the project are anticipated. At the end of the project, the recapitulating meeting with the participation of ecological organizations is going to take place.

Location. Poland is located in the geographical centre of Europe, full of friendly, hospitable, but nevertheless always grouchy people. Annually millions of tourists admire Poland’s idyllic rural landscape (somewhat flat, I admit), her touristic attractions such as the vast, mostly untouched beaches of the Baltic sea, Warmia and Mazury, rightfully known as the “Land of the Thousand Lakes”, her renowned primeval forests, sanctuaries for the last herd of the otherwise extinct European Buffalo (Bison bonasus) or ”Żubr” and the Tatra mountains with their picturesquely dressed dwellers, the “góraly”.
Everybody will find here something for their taste, interest and purse. Update leisure facilities provide recreation of the highest standards. Art galleries, museums, castles, concert halls and swimming pools, clubs and discos, country fairs and local festivals of all kind are awaiting you.Poland is ready and prepared to meet the expectancies of her most demanding guests.
Yours sincerely

About our school:
Our school is a modern institution established in the year 2000. We have a great educational background, inter alia: a big and well equipped gym, language laboratory and computer room, a pottery workshop, an always-on Internet connection in the computer room, library and in the secretary's office.
Three hundred pupils attend our school and they are taught by 30 highly trained teachers. We work dynamically and we can boast of all-Polish achievements. We are ready for new challenges, hence our eagerness to participate in next Comenius programme.

Where we live and study:
Our school is to be located in a small picturesque place Pogwizdów in the south of Poland, ten kilometres from the Czech border. It is a mountainous area attractive for tourists. We can offer many interesting places to visit, for instance: town Wisła with a new ski-jump and Adam Małysz, Cieszyn with its historic old town, Wieliczka and its significant salt mine, Oświęcim (Auschwitz) and the concentration camp from the World War II, Cracow - a former place of residence of  Polish kings with its Wawel castle and other remarkable historical monuments.

We are looking forward to hearing from any schools interested in poarticipation in this programme and cooperation with us.
Yours sincerely

The Wyszków Community Centre’s offer is directed for different persons and groups from the youngest to the oldest. We try to be friendly to our residents, to fulfill their cultural expectations. We want our offer to be as various as possible on high artistic level. We are aware that for many people we are the place where they can systematically develop their skills. In the Community Centre function many groups of adult people who share interest – stained-glass window, artistic workshop, dance group and university of the third age including tourist club, computer, English lessons.
There are many active people in Wyszków, who collect information, materials about life in Wyszków and its history. We want to enable them exchange of their experience. We would like make it possible for them to meet the adults in other countries where they develop their passions in community centers. The meetings will inspire them to further development, will enrich their abilities and ways of activity. They will boost the interest about present forms of activity and will contribute to establishment the new. This development will depend on adult people’s voluntary work in community centre who will spend time organizing new forms of activity.
