The characteristics of the organisation (main areas of educational activities, who are adult learners, etc.) Association for the Disabled “Joy of life” was established in 1999. The main reason for appointing the Association was creation of the Occupational Therapy Workshop. Our Occupational Therapy is dealing with extra-curricular educational (non formal) services for disabled adult persons mainly with mentally retarded and Down’s syndrome. elementary activity indispensable for unassisted work started from preparing meals and elementary personal hygiene to ability for go to the work. Our Centre provides various forms of therapy ( art-therapy, and simple artistic and technical work and rehabilitant exercises, elementary activity indispensable for unassisted work started from preparing meals and elementary personal hygiene to ability for go to the work). The Association keeps also an integration day-care room for disabled children. There, collective activities are given as well as activities with a pedagogue and psychologist. The Association cooperates with a group of volunteer acting at a Secondary School in Dąbrowa Białostocka. Recently we have achieved to raise financial means form different programs of European Union.

Summary of the project
Aims, objectives, general approach We want to exchange experience about art therapy as a method of social and cultural rehabilitation of disabled people. The aim of the project is to show people what our disabled students can do in order to their capacities and also to know and learn other countries art works. In the extend of the project students will do art works such as marbled, wood painting ,carpet work , relief etc.
