Hosting organisation from Spain_Working with disabled people

INTRAS is a non-profit organisation aiming to improve the quality of life of people suffering from mental disorders, disabled people, the elderly, and those working in the field, following the principle of equal opportunities. The main fields of work are social and healthcare assistance as well research, development and innovation. Nowadays, INTRAS is composed of 6 centres in 2 different provinces in Spain, and of 46 professionals mainly from psychiatric, psychological, social and economic fields who combine research, training and healthcare. The different facilities managed by the Foundation offering different resources for people with mental illness are: a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre, a Residential Centre, two Labour Rehabilitation Centres, two Educational Centres, two Day Centres, 13 supervised flats, and two clinical units for cognitive rehabilitation of the elderly.
INTRAS main objectives are the following:
- to promote and develop healthcare programmes;
- to promote and develop technological R&D projects;
- to promote and develop psycho-social and professional integration programmes;
- to improve the quality of research and healthcare programmes through training courses and publications;
- to encourage the adoption and implementation of technological progress in mental health and other disabilities groups;
- to promote and develop technological research and innovation projects in cooperation with other EU Member States;
- to promote cooperation and research projects to boost development in the public health field together with Latin-American countries.
