Grundtvig Multilateral Project_Spain

Dear Mr/Mrs,

I’m writing to you on behalf of Federation of Cultural and Adult Education Associations (FACEPA), a federation made up of several associations of people who have had little access to cultural and educational resources and are at more risk of social exclusion across the region of Catalonia (Spain). The aim of FACEPA is to promote and offer educational and cultural opportunities to participants, encouraging and enhancing their voices to be heard in decision-making processes. FACEPA has an important background with more than twelve years experience on managing European projects in adult education, both in Inti Programme and Longlife Learning Programme.

We are looking to take part in a Grundtvig Multilateral Project for the Lifelong Learning Programme 2012 related to our expertise field: adult education. If you are aware of any institution/organisation in your country that is intending to lead a project on adult education and are looking for a Spanish partner or a partner with extensive experience in European projects on adult education, we would be grateful if you provided us with their contact details or vice versa.

FACEPA has coordinated several European Projects since 1997 such as: Bill Project; European Chart of Participants' Rights in Adult Education (Project presented in CONFINTEA -Hamburg 1997- and recognized by UNESCO); STEP project, selected as a best practice in the Grundtvig Conference (January 2010). Our experience in coordinating European projects has been recognized by the European Commission and many other International Organizations.

FACEPA is a civil society Federation at the regional level working with local level organizations who are also experts in developing European projects:

The Roma Association of Women Drom Kotar Mestipen is a non-profit organisation that works on the topics related to the promotion of social, political and economic opportunities for the Roma women, gender equality, Roma identity and adult education.

The Association of participants Àgora is a non-profit making organization of adults who do not have any academic degree and is dedicated to the non-formal training of lifelong learners, especially those who are socially excluded, i.e. people coming from scholastic failure, immigrant people, elder people, disabled people, etc.

Heura is a women association created and managed by non-academic women. Heura is a deeply-rooted organization in the neighbourhood, which have been fighting for more than 25 years for the promotion and participation of non-academic women in society.

Attached is a summary of FACEPA and the three associations, including their number of members, main goals, experience in European projects, etc.

Looking forward to your response, we thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Maria Barceló

President of FACEPA
